Brahmapuri is located near Ela farm at Old Goa and is linked to the town by a kuchcha road. Mahadev was worshipped during the days of Kadamba kingdom in Goa. The Portuguese damaged the temple and built the Church of Santissimo Trinidade (the most Holy Trinity) in the 16th century. The shrine, rebuilt after the Inquisition, was ruined again by the Portuguese in 1779 by the Viceroy Dom Frederico Guilherme de Souza. Originally built in the 14th century, the temple was once again rebuilt in 1947 AD. Mahashivratri is celebrated with much religious fervour. This is a protected heritage site.

Cruz dos Milagres Old Goa: Thousands of faithful from across the state thronged the Monte de Boa Vista (hillock of good view ) on Tuesday for the annual feast of Cruz dos Milagres (Miraculous Cross), or popularly know as 'Khuris Milagr'. Novenas in preparation for the feast had commenced on February 14, with a daily Mass at 10am. The theme for the feast was, 'Khursacher nodor dovrun Sant Zuze Vazache mozotin amche kuttumb vaddoum-ia' (With an eye on the Cross, let us build our families through the intercession of St Joseph Vaz). The day also marks the 397th anniversary of the apparition of Jesus Christ on February 23, 1619, on a three-and-a-half-foot wooden cross erected at the site by local shepherd boys.
