Gandhi Circle
At this quaint junction, that many don't even deem important enough to spare a second glance, stands a statue of the Father of the Indian Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. A girl from a village holds on to the Mahatma with an expression of joy and contentment. Through his life the Mahatma had been known to labor over the condition of the people in India's myriad villages. This statue by artist Harish B. Talim captures the very essence of the Mahatma's love for his people and their affection for him. Located in Old Goa, the Mahatma Gandhi Circle has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
